10th Amendment
Restoring the American Dream
The 10th Amendment reads: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
President Reagan said, “Government is not the solution to our problem, government is the problem.” Those words were true then as they are today. America does not need an intrusive government involving itself in the day-to-day lives of its citizens. The federal government has abused its power, going beyond the vision of the Founding Fathers by firing CEOs, interfering with contractual rights of companies, and dictating to governors how they can run their states. The 10th Amendment no longer has any meaning in Washington, D.C..
I propose that the United States Congress immediately cease all legislation that unconstitutionally infringes on the rights of the states, including the current health care legislation. I applaud the countless states that have passed 10th Amendment Resolutions instructing Washington to restore their state’s rights.
